Sometimes all you really need is some cute looking lemonade to make use of your cool cocktail glasses. Dry January was never this easy ;-)

Peachy pink makes me feel like jumping into a Pinteresque pink fluffy bed. Or a sweet kiss from your love...
Such a shame we need to travel all the way to at least Antwerp for our dose of Laduree macarons. This photo series is in honor of the black liquorice macaron. Hands down! Round of applause! A black macaron is so tasty and I don't even like liquorice. When do we go again? This shoot is not sponsored. We wish :-)

Draw a heart, spread some love.
Don't you want to take your seat right away and have dinner served here? This setting fits a Christmas dinner with the family though the airy feel seems perfect for an early Spring gathering as well.

Parisian doors... Farrow and Ball feel. Or an old fashioned piece of soap.
Photos taken during travels through Japan. Our stops were Tokyo, Kyoto, HIroshima and Miyajima island. June 2014.
One of the most fascinating things in Japan I found was their attention to detail and their genuine politeness. To name a thing: When paying for your goods in a shop, the cash or your card is always accepted with two hands and a little bow. As far as styling, little settings with a flower and maybe a beautifully printed business card or quote are created everywhere - for instance - in front of a shop front to welcome you.
Besides their beautiful styling, I also love the ancient aesthetic philosophy 'Wabi Sabi'; Embrace the imperfect. This may be puresimplicity, a bit of roughness, asymmetry or parts of a natural process. I love stumbling upon a collected variety of pots with plants or an old but good looking mailbox.

Say yes to new adventures
When winter hits, in order to survive I try to visit a warmer and sunnier place than home. After a week of re-charging and stocking up on vitamine D and vitamine SEA I can conquer the remainder of winter. Cape Verde turned out to be the perfect spot without any jetlag, no daaays of traveling and it truly has a great vibe. The island of Sal is a bit deserted and sandy, very cool but I would love to visit one of the neighor island and supposedly more lushy Boa Vista sometime soon.

A sandy beach, yes please!
I thought my bar cart could use some backdrop there. I had bought this American flag at the Noordermarkt here in Amsterdam, probably 2 years ago already. I had seen several homes in magazines and interior blogs that had a US flag up on their wall. I loved it, and finally got the guts to go for it in our home as well. Anyone who visits isn't that suprised knowing my love for the US. But it is mainly a styling thing! Not simply a sign of US patriotism ;-)
